Energy

Pennsylvania is again on the forefront of reinventing itself as an industrial leader. Our vast supply of coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy resources positions us to become both a global and domestic leader of energy.

At the heart of this industry is the rapid development of the Marcellus Shale extraction. This industry provides the region with the incredible potential to put tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians to work in good paying jobs. However, Aaron believes that while we should strongly encourage the responsible development of this industry, its growth should never jeopardize the pristine quality of our environment.

As our Representative, Aaron will push to ensure that Pennsylvania holds all aspects of industry to the highest standards. Aaron will work for changes to environmental law that will require all drillers to conduct land, air, and water quality tests before they start their operation. This will ensure that when drillers are done with their operation, our lands are returned to a level of quality that is either the same or better than before they started.

Aaron also supports requiring having drilling companies purchase insurance that will fully cover any damages caused to property or person as a result of drilling.

Most importantly, Aaron will work to see that the municipalities that have drilling operations in them receive the full benefit of those operations. Aaron believes that all of the money generated by the extraction of natural gas by these drilling operations should stay in the communities that host them, not line the pockets of the politicians in Harrisburg.

Aaron will be a tireless advocate for Pennsylvania jobs in all aspects of the energy sector, but will also make sure he fights to keep Pennsylvania beautiful.

Veterans

Allegheny County has one of the highest concentrations of Veterans in the country. As a Veteran himself, Aaron has seen first hand the sub-par treatment that many of our heroes have faced upon returning from their service.

Aaron will make it his priority to ensure that Harrisburg takes the proper steps to provide the services and assistance that our service members deserve.

2nd Amendment

Aaron recognizes that the 2nd Amendment is an unalienable right that is provided to all Americans. But of course, with this right comes great responsibility. Pennsylvania must be aware that those with felony offenses and a history of mental illness need to be limited in their ability to purchase firearms.

Aaron is an avid gun rights supporter and will work to ensure that law abiding citizens are not denied their constitutional right to purchase and own a firearm.

Economy / Jobs

Though PA has a tremendous business infrastructure and the country's best workforce, we are ranked among the lowest in job creation and development. The solution for helping move PA towards recovery is through investment in small to medium businesses. Aaron believes in providing tax incentives that will encourage PA businesses to hire more PA workers and keep our valuable tax base here in our community.

When people have jobs, they have health care and financial security. Aaron will make job creation among his highest priorities in Harrisburg.

Pensions

As the state's pension system continues to move towards disaster, Pennsylvanian's need more than ever a leader who will defend tax payer's interest. As our representative, Aaron will work to help tax payers by moving pensions for state employees to defined contribution pensions instead of defined benefit pensions. This change will provide a strong benefit to all Pennsylvania tax payers and ensure that all current and future employees are guaranteed their pensions.

Property / School Taxes

Our current leaders have failed to address the sky rocketing burden of state property and school taxes. As Harrisburg remains inactive on this issue, many Pennsylvanians, including Senior Citizens have struggled to make ends meet.

To help ease this burden, Aaron will support policies that reduce and/or replace caps on the amount of school and property taxes that tax payers are asked to bear. Aaron will make sure that a premium amount of gaming revenues from our local casinos are returned to the community and devoted solely to easing burdensome property taxes.

Aaron also believes that gaming funds should be used in a way that either eliminates or strongly reduces school taxes for Senior Citizens. Since many Pennsylvania Senior Citizens lived on a fixed income, Aaron will work to keep downward pressure on the rising cost of cumbersome school taxes.

Additionally, our region needs a leader who will fight to prevent unfunded mandates coming from Harrisburg. These mandates are often forced on our schools and other government institutions without providing them the financial means to meet their obligations, inevitably passing the cost on to us. Aaron will be a fierce advocate for Pennsylvania tax payers and always work to make certain that Harrisburg lives within its means.

Government Spending

With the recent passage of the state budget, it has become abundantly clear that the majority in the PA House lacks the leadership necessary to properly administer our state’s finances. The absence of a plan to address the billions of dollars in looming liabilities is proof that Harrisburg is in desperate need of a change of leadership.

The time for ineffective representatives has passed, we need more than ever a fierce advocate who will fight for the PA taxpayer. Aaron recognizes that we are a government of the people and for the people, and not the other way around. Aaron promises to provide strong fiscal discipline and common sense when making choices on how to spend our tax dollars. Aaron will be a watchdog that will keep bureaucracies from wasting millions of your taxpayer dollars and at the same time work to find solutions to the looming budget shortfalls that we still face.
